Internationalisation is an extensive topic that is applied in various fields. Overall, it aims to shorten the gap between nations and cultures. The Ministry of Education of Finland created a long-term policy to promote internationalisation in various fields including higher education and research (Check: https://minedu.fi/documents/1410845/4154572/YMP-en-net.pdf).
Tendencies of internationalisation are spread all around the world. In the new era of digitalisation, your location doesn’t play such a crucial role anymore. Cultural exchange and international collaboration is a win-win situation for everyone. It brings a diverse solution, enriches your knowledge, and helps to understand each other better. Together with Sandra Slotte, Head of Sustainable Career Support at Arcada University of Applied Sciences (Helsinki, Finland) and the founder of “Open doors and minds”, we discussed this topic in different frames.
What is the difference between internationalisation and globalisation? Why are soft skills so important nowadays? How can integration be applied in remote work and studies? What is the impact of intercultural communication on our interpersonality and why do we need to cultivate emotional intelligence?
Find the answers to these and many other questions in the first part of our interview.
In the second part of the interview, we discussed comprehensive internationalisation, international talents' employment in Finland, and the impact of internationalisation on education. Hear more about "Open Doors and Minds" and why international talents should be heard!
