SEED — Sustainable Empowerment through Eco-Art & Development
SEED helps women turn creativity into a career path. The programme combines regular art coaching with short masterclasses by established artists, focusing on technique, collaborative practice and practical professional skills. We use recycled and natural materials to keep costs low and artistic practice sustainable. Sessions are delivered both indoors and outdoors in accessible locations and scheduled flexibly so participation fits around family and caring responsibilities.
Build creative skills, join the art world, keep life whole.
A practical programme for women in Oulu who want real steps into the creative industry — technique, teamwork, professional skills and artist networks, using recycled and natural materials.

About the project
SEED is about respect — for your time, your family, and the environment. This programme lowers barriers to creative work, connects you with Finland’s nature as inspiration, and helps you step toward income without heavy start-up costs.

For whom?
For women in Oulu who are unemployed or under-employed and want to improve their life situation. SEED welcomes participants from diverse cultural backgrounds and supports those balancing home and caring duties. The programme is designed so you can grow personally and professionally without giving up other responsibilities.

What do you gain?
You’ll develop multidimensional artistic skills: technique, material exploration, composition and creative problem-solving. Guided by focused art coaching and occasional masterclasses, the programme also strengthens professional capacities such as studio habits, presentation, collaboration, project planning and networking, so participants gain practical confidence to operate in real creative contexts. Working both individually and in teams builds interpersonal skills and hands-on experience, while practising with sustainable, low-cost materials reduces barriers to starting a creative path.

Why it matters?
SEED focuses on the person and the professional. We build interpersonal confidence, peer support and practical skills so participants can step into the creative field with credibility and momentum. By connecting women to artist networks and real presentation opportunities, SEED creates pathways from learning to paid creative work — while respecting family life and other commitments.
